GUSTAFI (1993-)

Gustafi are, from the mid 90s on, the most successful and popular band from Pula (actually, they are spreaded all around south Istria..). They started back in 1980. as GUSTAPH Y NJEGOVI DOBRI DUHOVI and the first years of the 90s worked sporadically on various projects, to return definitely in 1993, revived and redefined, playing a great mix of Tex-mex Rock, Country and Istrian traditional melodies, all sang in Istrian dialect. The combination became instantly popular locally, and after few albums Gustafi exploded all around Croatia, playing a lot of concerts all around Europe and wider. Their shows are always euphoric and extremely positive. The band has an illegal section called Gufsoni, playing the Gustafi stuff in an alternative rocking way.
Update 2020: Lately, Gustafi celebrated 40 years of activity, even the boss of the band Edi Maružin works harder with his new band Edi East Trance Blues Band.
