ZMANJANA DICA (2003-2012)

A raw HC-Punk band formed by members of other Pula Punk bands (Reanimacija, Nulla Osta, Pasmaters, Public Disgrace) which exists for almost a decade, and is still playing, even if they have only one audio material released, a "side" of the split CD with Pasmaters.
Update 2020: nothing from them since 2012.

PUBLIC DISGRACE (2012-2015)

Here`s a brandnew (just a year old) HC Punk band formed by members of Nulla Osta, Pasmaters, ex-Megabitch, DJ And The Wootchyak and Zmanjana Dica. They recorded their first CD last summer, a great quality recording of raw Punk HC.
Update 2020: nothing from them since 2015.

FONJA BIG BAND (2009)

Honestly I don`t know much about them, so almost everything I will write here is supposition. The only sure thing is that this is another project from the Istrian underground guru (I know he would hate this monicker) Franci Blaskovic, and joined by musicians among whom is the F.O.B./ex-KUD Idijoti drummer Dejo.
How to describe the music here ... ? It is an alternative experimental mix of a lot of kinds of music, but anyway very interesting, and with a perfect recording production
I am not quite sure if they existed longer than this two recordings...

GOLA JAJA (1978-1984, 1988-1990)

Gola Jaja were, along with Problemi, the first Punk band in Pula, and among the first in the whole Yugoslavia. They recorded some demos, and then split-up due to the constant change of members caused by the obligatory army service.Members of the bands nowadays are prepairing a vinyl collection of their stuff, so it is expectable during this year !!!

PULA IN "THE SUN" (2013)

Here is a nice review/travel report about Pula in the british newspaper "The Sun". This article will make you visit Pula this summer for sure.

POKRET OTPORA (2010-)

Pokret Otpora is a relatively new Punk HC band made of members from Reanimacija and Frontalni Udar. They started in 2010., and few months after the beginning they recorded their first demo. They just finished their new material.
Update 2020: never really disbanded, but not active since 2015.

VOMIT PUTRIDITY (1994-1998)

Vomit Putridity was one of the many Grindcore projects/bands in Pula during the 90s. Of course, a member of the band was Dario Kroznjak-Rio, surely the most active musician in Pula at that time.

OVO JE PULA, NE RIJEKA (PULA-LONDON-TEHERAN) - COMPILATION CASSETTE 1988

This is a great compilation tape compiled by one of the most active guy of the Pula`s underground scene in the 80s, Djanfranko Martincic-Geza. On this tape there are six bands from Pula, the hottest Garage-Alternative-Punk-Rock bands of that moment, each band featured with three songs. All the bands are awesome, two of which continued their carreers on vinyl releases (you realised I am talking about Messerschmitt and The Spoons).
The title of the tape have a nice story behind; the first part is an adaptation of the title of the cult Punk-Hardcore compilation "This Is Boston, Not L.A." pointing out the rivalry between Pula and Rijeka.
The second part is an obvious mockering of the title of an LP compilation of bands from Rijeka, which was entitled "Rijeka-Paris-Texas". The second title of our compilation is invented by Miro Kusacic from Messerschmitt during their first ever live performance at the Rijeka`s Gitarijada "Rock Istre i Kvarnera 1988", where bands of the Istrian and Kvarner regions were competing. The promoter did an unexcusable mistake, and that was to put all the bands from Pula (and there were 5 bands) to play in broad daylight, from 5PM, in front of no audience, except for members from other Pula bands. That pissed all of us pretty much, and Miro during their (Messerschmitt`s) performance announced the bands from Pula as part of the project entitled "Pula-London-Teheran" (the moment is audio-documented).
A moment with an epicness undescribable with words.

PS: endless thanx to my mate Nenad Crnac-Chrle on the original cassette !!

DIE BLAUE REITER (1984)

Die Blaue Reiter was a Dark Post Punk Alternative band that existed for a very short time, but luckily left a trace in the history of Pula Rock scene.

THE CROSSROADS (1992-1997)

The Crossroads were a successful Blues Rock band and one of the bands from Pula with a vinyl album !! The band was very active from 1992 until 1997, when they split-up. Part of the band today is involved with the follow-up band Delta Blues Gang, who are actually right now in the USA playing the International Blues Challenge festival in Memphis, and getting into the legendary SUN studio (!!!) to record 11 new tracks for their first album. Good luck, pals!
